In spite of the recent incident in Kalev SPA in Tallinn where over 30 spa guests, including several Finns, were hospitalized because of chlorine accident, Finns still consider Tallinn a safe city.
Eesti Päevaleht writes that unlike many Estonians who were very critical of the way Kalev SPA handled the incident and promised to keep away from the facility, Finns were largely positive about the way the personnel handled the evacuation.
Finns interviewed by the paper said that Tallinn is no less safe than, for instance, Helsinki. „I have been in Tallinn several times and it is not more dangerous than other similar cities. Only people who drink too much tend to end in trouble. If you drink yourself into coma, you could get beaten up anywhere,“ said one Finn.
The most popular spa in Estonia by visitor numbers was Kalev SPA that in 2007 attracted 400,000 visitors or 115,000 more than a year earlier.
