Finnish meat group Atria said this week that it plans to acquire two Estonian meat packers Wõro Kommerts and Vastse-Kuuste Lihatööstus.
Eesti Päevaleht writes that Atria has not disclosed the purchase price, but said that the deal should become effective on August 1 after the Estonian competition board has issued its approval.
Since 2005 Atria owns in Estonia Valga Lihatööstus that ended last year with sales of EUR 23.2 million.
If Atria is allowed to acquire the two companies it would create Estonia’s second largest meat packing group.
