Estonia has launched a new e-consultation forum which is designed to let all citizens play their part in improving the country – with forestry one of the issues on the agenda.
The Baltic country, which has over 2.3 million acres of forest, is looking to generate ideas from citizens and to encourage people to engage with the issues.
Minister for regional affairs, Siim-Valmar Kiisler, said he wanted people to use the "participation web" to tie together the "future of Estonia citizen initiatives and development of the e-state".
Hille Hinsberg, information officer to the government, said people would be able to vote and comment on ideas on the web, with the official viewpoint also posted.
Draft material will be accessible, while all opinions will be analysed and a response sent by an official.
The government says a range of areas will be covered in the process, ranging from the "general principles of the Estonian European Union policy to the Forestry Act".
