Estonian national airline Estonian Air said yesterday its last year’s result was a loss of EEK 52 million at turnover of EEK 381 million.
Postimees writes that the result is still better than a year earlier when the company lost almost EEK 59 million.
The airlines revenues increased 7 percent in a year, but the company saw its costs go up in connection with acquiring new Saab 340 aircraft and expansion into new markets.
The airline also said that its result was negatively affected by the fewer number of foreign tourists visiting Estonia in 2007.
The government that owns 34 percent of shares of Estonian Air has recalled Jaan Männik from the supervisory board of Estonian Air and replaced him with Heldur Meerits.
49 percent of Estonian Air is owned by SAS and 17 percent by investment bank Cresco.
